We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Unit Coordinator to join our team at Fraser Health.
Key Responsibilities- Order Coordination and Transcription: Prioritize, process, and coordinate physicians' orders by copying information, completing required forms, and entering information into the computer.
- Scheduling and Coordination: Schedule, book, and coordinate patient appointments by receiving appointment requests, arranging appointment dates and times, and making follow-up appointments.
- Communication and Liaison: Act as a communication link for the assigned area by contacting other facilities and departments, exchanging information regarding bed availability, and receiving patient tests and visitors.
- Chart Maintenance: Assemble and maintain patient charts according to established procedures, transcribe patient data into applicable health records, and attach patient documents to charts.
- Administrative Tasks: Perform related clerical duties such as data entry, filing, compiling statistics, delivering and picking up items, and arranging for equipment repairs.
- Grade 12, medical terminology, and graduation from a recognized Nursing Unit Clerk program.
- One year of recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to deal with others effectively.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
