We are the newest member of Sobeys Inc.'s retail food offering which serves the needs of Canadians with more than 1,600 stores in over 930 communities from coast-to-coast.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Uphold and comply with company procedures, standards, and policies in all situations
  2. Provide superior customer service in accordance with Safeway's programs
  3. Process cash register payments by cash, cheque, credit card, gift card, and debit
  4. Offer samples to customers
  5. Prepare hot and cold food, including sandwiches, chicken, salads, soups, and specialty trays
  6. Use commercial power equipment, including slicers, fryers, and ovens
  7. Write product orders
  8. Receive and rotate product
  9. Fulfill product showcases

Requirements
  1. Ability to learn quickly
  2. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  3. Highly motivated and team-oriented
  4. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in both oral and written form
  5. Possess strong customer service qualities
  6. Work in a safe and responsible manner
  7. Available to work flexible hours
  8. Knowledgeable of various cuts of meat (an asset)

Physical Requirements
  • Constant lifting of up to 10 pounds
  • Constant standing, reaching, gripping
  • Frequent computer and point of sale system use
  • Frequent bending, walking, twisting, pushing, or pulling
  • Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds (including waist-level, shoulder-level, and low-level lifts)
