BFL Canada is seeking a highly skilled Claims Advisor to join our team in Montreal. As a Claims Advisor, you will play a critical role in processing clients' claims, reviewing policies, investigating losses, and analyzing coverage.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Review relevant policies and report losses to the insurer
  • Settle and manage claims below the insured's deductible
  • Investigate the cause of the loss
  • Confirm coverages included in the insurance policy
  • Review all claims documentation
  • Estimate damages and losses suffered to settle the claim, appoint vendors as necessary
  • Conduct claims and coverage analysis, recommend solutions to coverage issues
  • Negotiate payments and reimbursements with the insurers on the client's behalf
  • Update the client on the status of the claim as required
  • Enter and maintain current and accurate information in our electronic file system
  • Maintain current and accurate files and documentation for each claim
  • Prepare and update loss bordereaux
  • Build and maintain excellent working relationships with adjusters, insurers, and suppliers
  • Conduct monthly meetings with clients to provide updates on active claims

Requirements:

  • Minimum three years' experience in the insurance industry
  • A claims adjuster's license issued by the Autorité des marchés financiers
  • Experience in handling personal lines claims
  • Excellent knowledge of coverage and good analytical skills
  • Bilingual with strong verbal and written communication skills in French and in English
  • Good knowledge of the MS Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, and Word)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective time management and organizational skills
