Job Title: Employment Counsellor

Arrow & Slocan Lakes Community Services is seeking a skilled Employment Counsellor to join our team. As an Employment Counsellor, you will work with clients to identify their employment goals and develop strategies to achieve them.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct interviews with clients to gather information about their employment history, education, and career goals.
  • Assess clients' problems and develop personalized counselling plans to address their needs.
  • Identify barriers to employment and provide clients with job readiness skills, job search strategies, and resume writing assistance.
  • Administer and interpret tests to determine clients' interests, aptitudes, and abilities.
  • Collect labour market information to provide clients with insights into job openings, entry requirements, and other occupational information.
  • Follow up with clients to monitor their progress and adjust their counselling plans as needed.
Requirements:
  • College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1-2 years.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation.
