We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Employment Counsellor to join our team at Arrow & Slocan Lakes Community Services. As an Employment Counsellor, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals in achieving their employment goals and improving their overall well-being.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct in-depth interviews with clients to understand their employment history, educational background, and career aspirations.
- Assess clients' strengths and challenges, and develop personalized plans to overcome barriers to employment.
- Provide guidance on job readiness skills, job search strategies, resume writing, and interview preparation.
- Administer and interpret assessments to identify clients' interests, aptitudes, and abilities.
- Collect and provide labour market information to clients, including job openings, entry requirements, and occupational information.
- Follow up with clients to monitor their progress and adjust their plans as needed.
- College diploma or equivalent in a related field.
- 3 years of experience in employment counselling or a related field.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle.
