We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Employment Counsellor to join our team at Arrow & Slocan Lakes Community Services. As an Employment Counsellor, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals in achieving their employment goals and improving their overall well-being.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct in-depth interviews with clients to understand their employment history, educational background, and career aspirations.
- Assess clients' problems and develop personalized counselling and intervention programs to help them achieve their goals.
- Administer and interpret tests to determine clients' interests, aptitudes, and abilities.
- Collect labour market information to provide clients with valuable insights into job openings, entry requirements, and occupational information.
- Follow up with clients to monitor their progress and adjust their counselling programs as needed.
- College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1-2 years, or equivalent experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients from diverse backgrounds.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality services.
- Experience working in a community-based organization or employment services setting.
- Knowledge of labour market trends and employment opportunities in the region.
- Ability to speak multiple languages, with a focus on serving clients from diverse linguistic backgrounds.
