Our Automation & Digitalization division is seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer or Technologist to join our Richmond, BC team. This position will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering high-quality electrical and control engineering projects that improve plant productivity, reliability, and sustainability for our North American customers.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with customers and coworkers to solve operational challenges and support system upgrade projects.
  • Audit industrial facilities and develop preliminary engineering designs and estimates for electrical and control system upgrades.
  • Prepare and evaluate tender and construction packages, including electrical and instrumentation drawings, installation specifications, and supporting documentation.
  • Complete electrical, control, and instrumentation system design, including P&ID drawings, control system architecture, and instrumentation systems.
  • Design control strategies to optimize performance and program and configure DCS and PLC/HMI applications.
  • Perform system checkout, testing, and commissioning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or technology diploma in electrical engineering (or similar).
  • Experience in industrial automation engineering an asset.
  • Experience in pulp & paper, mining, and/or chemical industries an asset.
  • Resourceful, self-managed, and goal-driven, with strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills (English).
  • Registered as a or AScT in British Columbia.
  • Practical knowledge of North American standards.
  • Authorized to work in Canada.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to domestic and international sites (typically 5-20%).
