About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Animal Care Attendant to join our team at the BC SPCA. As a key member of our shelter team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of the animals in our care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional animal care and attention to detail in maintaining a clean and safe environment for animals
  • Collaborate with colleagues to maintain the physical plant and ensure efficient operations
  • Treat animals with compassion and respect, and promote these values to others
  • Administer medications and provide proper diet and care for animals
  • Ensure animal health and well-being in accordance with our animal health policy
  • Maintain high standards to portray the BC SPCA as a compassionate and caring organization
  • Support front office staff with telephone reception, counter inquiries, and other tasks as needed
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Class N or 5 BC Drivers' License and driver's abstract
  • Demonstrable interest in animal welfare and knowledge of animal breeds and characteristics
  • Ability to work as a team player and possess excellent customer service skills
  • Basic computer skills and ability to prioritize demands on time
