About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced HR Business Partner to join our team at Atlantic. As an HR Business Partner, you will play a critical role in building and maintaining strong relationships with our leadership and management teams, providing guidance and counsel on HR-related matters.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide support to managers in workforce planning, including attracting, screening, and interviewing applicants, and orienting new employees.

• Advise management and employees on employee relations issues, reducing escalation and mitigating risk, and building an engaged workforce and positive culture.

• Drive employee engagement initiatives, working with senior managers to implement necessary changes.

• Provide expert guidance, coaching, and support to senior and line managers on policies and procedures, terms and conditions, absence management, restructuring, performance management, and discipline.

• Liaise with management to process and conduct employee exits, ensuring regulatory compliance.

• Keep current with legal developments and advise management on compliance and risk factors, investigating and answering grievances within the framework of the contract.

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree, preferably with a focus on business, human resources, or occupational health and safety.

• CHRP or in progress.

• Strong knowledge of labour law, employment law, Human Rights legislation, and Health and Safety legislation.

• 3-5 years' experience in a Human Resource Generalist role in a manufacturing unionized environment.

• 3-5 years of progressive health and safety experience in a manufacturing unionized environment.

• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

• Excellent computer skills.

• Desire to be hands-on and "on the floor".

• Experience in developing and delivering training programs.

• Problem-solving skills; leadership skills.

• Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with training programs, recruitment techniques, performance management systems, dispute resolution, and application of Collective Agreement language.
