Position Overview

As a Procurement Specialist, you will be integral to managing the acquisition of essential materials, components, and supplies necessary for our operations. Your responsibilities will include keeping meticulous records of all purchases and ensuring that deliveries are tracked and followed up on promptly. You will liaise regularly with suppliers and internal teams to provide updates on order statuses. Furthermore, you will handle purchase orders, identify potential new suppliers, and negotiate pricing to enhance our procurement strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct research to maintain optimal stock levels.
  • Place orders for required materials and components.
  • Foster and maintain positive relationships with vendors.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers as needed.
  • Ensure accurate maintenance of vendor databases, including pricing, terms, and availability.
  • Oversee timely delivery of products to minimize delays.
  • Track orders and monitor delivery progress.
  • Coordinate product status updates with relevant departments.
  • Process and maintain comprehensive records for each purchase order, including verifying pricing against invoices.
  • Evaluate market conditions, assess pricing and availability, and keep precise records.
  • Negotiate pricing and supply agreements.
  • Assess and evaluate vendor performance.
  • Research and identify new vendor opportunities.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a procurement role.
  • Experience in inventory management.
  • Proficient in database management, spreadsheets, word processing, and MRP systems.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • Highly organized with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proven negotiation skills with suppliers.
