BDS Drywall Ltd is seeking a skilled Drywall Finisher to join our team. As a Drywall Finisher, you will be responsible for applying successive coats of compound and sanding seams and joints to ensure a smooth finish.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Apply coats of compound and sand seams and joints
  • Clean and prepare surfaces for drywall installation
  • Cut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners
  • Fills joints, nail indentations, holes and cracks with joint compound
  • Mix plaster ingredients to desired consistency
  • Smooth out excess compound and allow coat to dry
  • Tape over joints using taping machine and embed tape in compound
  • Attach metal or gypsum lath to studs or furring
  • Cut openings in lath for heating and ventilation piping, ducts and electrical outlets
  • Install corner beads and wire mesh around beams to which plaster is to be applied
  • Erect and install scaffolding, falsework and other working platforms
Work Environment:

This is a physically demanding role that requires working at heights, in dusty and noisy environments. You will be required to relocate for work sites, with relocation costs covered by the employer.

Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience an asset
  • Flexibility, reliability, and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • English language proficiency
  • 30-40 hours per week
