Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team at Nova Scotia Health. This is a permanent full-time position that will involve procurement activities in a centralized service, including inventory and non-inventory goods and services.

About the Opportunity

The Procurement Specialist will be responsible for assisting with supply/service contract management for facilities and agencies as directed by the Procurement Manager according to established procurement policies.

A skill test will be included as part of the selection process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform procurement activities in a centralized service, including inventory and non-inventory goods and services
  • Assist with supply/service contract management for facilities and agencies as directed by the Procurement Manager
  • Apply established procurement policies and procedures
Requirements
  • Grade 12 or equivalent required
  • Two (2) year post-secondary program in Business or equivalent required
  • One (1) or more years of experience in a related supply chain environment required
  • SCMA Certificate or an acceptable combination of education and experience would be considered an asset
  • Advanced working knowledge and proficiency with a variety of computer software applications, specifically Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
  • Working knowledge of SAP operating system preferred
  • Ability to work in a self-directed environment and also effectively within an interdisciplinary team
  • Willingness to learn new computer programming
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
Compensation and Benefits

This is a permanent full-time position, offering a salary of $27.09 - $30.68 hourly, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
