Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Human Resources and Internal Communications Specialist to join our team at the Government of New Brunswick. This is a permanent position located at Kings Landing, with the possibility of traveling to other locations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the daily functions of the Human Resource department, including coaching, hiring, and interviewing staff, managing and administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices.
  • Facilitate and improve internal communication across Kings Landing to ensure that employees are familiar with the organization's mission, goals, policies, and expectations.
  • Review, track, and document compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments.
  • Recruit, interview, and facilitate the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions.
  • Implement new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
  • Perform routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs, including compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
  • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, employment law, employee retention, morale, recognition, productivity, and incentives.
  • Provide collaborative guidance and advice on integrated communication strategies to build employee morale, productivity, retention, and policy compliance.
  • Implement, conduct, facilitate, and/or analyze results of employee morale and retention initiatives, such as incentive programs, stay interviews, career development meetings, employee surveys, and exit interviews.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or a related field.
  • Three (3) years of professional-level experience in human resources.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Valid class 5 driver's license as issued by the Province of New Brunswick.
  • Written and spoken competence in English is required.
