About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Groundsperson to join our Milling team at Colas, a leading construction and maintenance company in Canada. As a key member of our team, you will assist the Milling Machine Operator on highway and private contracts, ensuring the smooth operation of our equipment and contributing to the creation of high-quality roads.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Milling Machine Operator in road construction operations, including cleaning, servicing, and lubricating equipment.
  • Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment, complete maintenance records, and daily equipment logs.
  • Operate two-way radios and other communication devices to ensure seamless communication with the crew.
  • Lead by example, promoting a Safety-First culture for all employees, sub-contractors, consultants, and the public.
Requirements
  • Valid Class 5 license and clean abstract.
  • Experience on a milling or paving crew.
  • Ability to travel and work on weekends, when required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Mechanically inclined.
  • Knowledge of grades: cross slops, super elevations, offset grades, swales.
