Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Warehouse Supervisor to join our Pet Valu team. As a key member of our distribution center, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our warehouse, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direction and guidance to warehouse staff, including selectors, reach truck operators, and shipper-receivers, to ensure that all tasks are completed to the highest standard.
  • Monitor and maintain a safe working environment, adhering to all relevant health and safety regulations and procedures.
  • Develop and implement training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of warehouse staff, ensuring that they are equipped to perform their roles effectively.
  • Manage and maintain accurate records of inventory, including productivity reports, load discrepancy reports, and shorts tracking.
  • Ensure that all warehouse operations are conducted in a manner that meets the highest standards of customer service, with a focus on meeting the needs of our stores.
  • Perform cycle counts and reconcile inventory discrepancies, ensuring that our inventory levels are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Monitor and control infestation through compliance with our infestation control program, ensuring that our warehouse remains free from pests and diseases.
  • Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment, adhering to our housekeeping standards and procedures.
  • Open and close the warehouse facility, ensuring that all security protocols are in place and that the premises are secure.
  • Work collaboratively with other departments to achieve the goals and objectives of our warehouse, including labor productivity, auditing, inventory accuracy, and write-offs.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a supervisory role, preferably in a warehouse or distribution center environment.
  • Lift truck and health and safety training and certification, or willingness to recertify.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze warehouse operations and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Basic to intermediate computer skills, with experience using a computerized inventory system.
