About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Power Engineer to join our team at McAsphalt, a leading provider of asphalt products and services in Canada. As a Power Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our asphalt plant.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and maintain the hot oil heater system to ensure optimal performance and safety
  • Off-load and load trucks coming to the plant, ensuring accurate and efficient material handling
  • Control the heat of the tanks using hot oil heaters, maintaining precise temperature control
  • Manufacture polymer-modified asphaltic products, adhering to strict quality control standards
  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks to ensure the plant's equipment is in good working order
  • Collaborate with the operations team to achieve production goals and maintain a safe working environment
Requirements
  • Power Engineer education with a valid 4th class steam ticket
  • Previous experience with high-pressure boilers is a strong asset
  • A strong work ethic and ability to work in a small team environment
  • A reliable method of transportation to and from work
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, being responsible, resourceful, and autonomous
  • Ability to work outdoors, at height, and in all environments
  • Experience with pumps, piping, heat tracing, and hot oil heaters is considered an asset
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills in English
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel at the intermediate level
