Transforming Transportation Safety

At SGI, we're committed to ensuring the roads are safe for everyone. As a Driver Examiner, you'll play a vital role in assessing applicants for driver's licenses, promoting road safety, and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer and conduct written and oral examinations, vision screening, and road tests for various driver's license classes and endorsements.
  • Evaluate test results and counsel applicants on areas for improvement.
  • Conduct visual inspections of vehicles used for testing and identify potential safety issues.
  • Observe applicants for signs and symptoms that may indicate a medical examination is required before a license is issued.
  • Create routes for road testing in various locations.
  • Respond to customer concerns and provide input on ministerial inquiries.
Driver Safety and Education
  • Conduct investigations and interviews related to driver improvement programs, make recommendations, and prepare reports.
  • Create customized Driver Ability Assessments (DAAs) for individuals with medical conditions and prepare reports based on results.
  • Deliver traffic safety presentations to large groups and answer routine inquiries on driving rules and regulations.
  • Collaborate with external partners on driver examination services and answer inquiries from the public and enforcement agencies.
Requirements
  • Two-year diploma in a relevant field, such as Business, or defined equivalency.
  • Certified Driver Examiner Designation from AAMVA.
  • Valid Class 4 driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
  • Five years of Class 5 driving experience with at least two years of post-Graduated Driver's Licensing (GDL) program driving experience.
