Warehouse Supervisor Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Warehouse Supervisor to join our team at Western Star Trucks. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily activities of our warehouse staff, ensuring efficient and effective inventory management, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the processing and inspection of incoming orders, identifying and reporting any damages or discrepancies.
  • Supervise warehouse staff, ensuring they complete tasks in a timely and efficient manner, and provide guidance and support as needed.
  • Utilize available tools and technologies to improve efficiency and streamline processes.
  • Ensure all areas of the warehouse are clean, organized, and safe, and implement measures to maintain a high level of housekeeping.
  • Cultivate a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging warehouse employees to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Develop and implement cycle count schedules to ensure accurate inventory levels and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with management to ensure all necessary tools, equipment, and supplies are available and in good working condition.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, ensuring all on-hand inventory is accurately accounted for.
  • Assist with back-order filling and maintenance, and ensure retail area is well-maintained.
  • Provide training and support to warehouse employees, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  • Manage employee performance, including discipline, training, engagement, and support.

Requirements:

  • Ability to manage a team and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Physical ability to lift heavier items on a regular basis and wear required PPE.
  • Forklift certification and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with customers, coworkers, and vendors.
  • Ability to prioritize and re-prioritize tasks as needed, and work both indoors and outdoors.
