Warehouse Supervisor Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Warehouse Supervisor to join our team at Western Star Trucks. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily activities of our warehouse staff, ensuring efficient and effective inventory management, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the processing and inspection of incoming orders, identifying and reporting any damages or discrepancies.
  • Supervise warehouse staff, ensuring they complete tasks in a timely and efficient manner, and provide guidance and support as needed.
  • Utilize available tools and technologies to improve efficiency and streamline processes.
  • Ensure all areas of the warehouse are clean, organized, and safe, and implement measures to maintain a high level of housekeeping.
  • Cultivate a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging staff to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Develop and implement cycle count schedules to ensure accurate inventory levels.
  • Collaborate with management to ensure all necessary tools, equipment, and supplies are available and in good working condition.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Assist with back-order filling and maintenance, and ensure accurate and timely processing of pick lists.
  • Provide training and support to warehouse staff, and ensure they are equipped to perform their duties effectively.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a supervisory or management role, preferably in a warehouse or logistics environment.
  • Ability to manage a team and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Physical ability to lift heavy items and wear required personal protective equipment.
  • Forklift certification and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers, colleagues, and vendors.
