Job Title: Packaging and Product Labeling Design Specialist

At PML Sound International, we are seeking a highly skilled Packaging and Product Labeling Design Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our design department, you will be responsible for creating innovative and effective packaging solutions for our consumer electronics products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and Develop Packaging Solutions: Create compelling packaging designs that meet our brand standards and product specifications.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with product managers, engineers, and marketing teams to ensure packaging meets regulatory requirements and brand standards.
  • Conduct Market Research: Stay up-to-date on packaging trends, consumer preferences, and regulatory changes to inform design decisions.
  • Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Ensure packaging designs comply with industry regulations and standards, including local and global safety regulations, labelling requirements, and translation needs.
  • Coordinate with Suppliers: Work with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure design feasibility, regulatory compliance, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Review and Approve Production Samples: Review and approve final production samples before mass production.
  • Lead the Packaging Approval Process: Propose and implement changes and enhancements to our packaging approval process.
  • Maintain Design Files: Maintain organized files and records of all packaging and labelling designs.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design or Related Field: A degree in graphic design or a related field is required.
  • 3+ Years of Experience in Packaging Design: A minimum of 3 years of experience in packaging design, preferably in the consumer electronics industry.
  • Proficiency in Design Software: Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and other design software.
  • Strong Understanding of Branding and Design Principles: A strong understanding of branding, colour theory, typography, and print production processes.
  • Excellent Attention to Detail: Excellent attention to detail and a keen eye for aesthetics.
  • Strong Communication and Presentation Skills: Strong communication and presentation skills are required.
  • Knowledge of Industry Regulations: In-depth knowledge of industry regulations and standards for packaging and labelling, including safety and compliance requirements across different markets.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with 3D Modeling Software: Experience with 3D modeling software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Sustainable Packaging Practices: Familiarity with sustainable packaging practices and materials is a plus.
  • Knowledge of User-Centered Design Principles: Knowledge of user-centered design principles is a plus.
