Equipment Maintenance and Repair Opportunity
Aecon is seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team in Calgary, Alberta. As an experienced mechanic, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our earthmoving and paving construction equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure Workplace Safety and Compliance: Adhere to workplace safety regulations, environmental policies, and national safety codes to maintain a safe working environment.
- Diagnose and Repair Equipment: Read diagrams, schematics, and repair manuals to diagnose issues with equipment, perform repairs, and ensure timely and accurate diagnosis and repair.
- Operate Equipment Safely: Operate hoists, lift devices, and other equipment to position machinery parts safely and efficiently.
- Maintain Equipment: Inspect, examine, lubricate, service, assemble, and maintain vehicles and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Provide Guidance and Instruction: Provide guidance and instruction to less experienced maintenance personnel to ensure they have the necessary skills to perform their duties effectively.
- Perform Hands-on Maintenance and Repairs: Perform hands-on maintenance and repairs on all equipment, diagnosing electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic troubles.
- Suggest Improvements: Suggest positive changes to policy and procedures as required to improve efficiency and productivity.
- Meet Physical Demands: Meet physical demands of the job, including heavy lifting, to ensure the safe and efficient operation of equipment.
Requirements:
- 3+ Years of Industry Experience: Possess at least 3 years of experience in a similar role or industry.
- Journeyman Certificate (Red Seal): Hold a Journeyman Certificate (Red Seal) in Heavy Equipment Technician or equivalent qualification.
- Dual Tickets: Possess dual tickets or be willing to obtain them.
- CVIP Certification: Hold CVIP certification or be willing to obtain it.
- Valid Driver's License: Possess a valid driver's license with fewer than 6 demerit points on the driver's abstract.
Estimated Salary Range: $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
