Our client, a leading manufacturer in the oil and gas industry, is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Technician or Heavy Duty Mechanic to join their team in Calgary. As a contract role, this position offers a stable and predictable schedule with opportunities for ongoing work as the company grows.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain, repair, overhaul, and install hydraulic systems on heavy vehicles and industrial equipment, focusing on Parker hydraulic pumps and CAT/Cummins engines.
- Read and interpret hydraulic schematics, blueprints, and code specifications for industrial equipment installations.
- Perform troubleshooting, testing, and repairs to ensure proper operation of equipment.
- Install mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and fuel systems as per schematics and industry standards.
- Mentor and provide training to apprentices under supervision.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and contribute to a safe working environment.
Requirements:
- Certification: Red Seal Heavy Equipment Technician or Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic.
- Strong understanding of hydraulics, power transmissions, and diesel engines.
- Experience with hydraulic schematics, hosing, crimping, and troubleshooting.
- CVIP licensing or relevant experience is a strong asset.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, with a focus on precision and mechanical troubleshooting.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and adaptability to new technology and processes.
What We Offer:
- Hourly wage ranging from $40.00 to $54.00, based on experience.
- Straight days: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with potential overtime on weekends.
- Potential for quarterly performance bonuses.
- Comprehensive health benefits package, including medical and dental coverage (100% company-paid).
- RRSP matching program at 4%.
- PPE provided by the company.
