Manufacturing Operations Manager

BWXT Canada Ltd. is a leading provider of nuclear power generation equipment and medical isotopes. We are seeking a Shop Supervisor to join our team in Cambridge, Ontario.
Job Summary
The Shop Supervisor will be responsible for leading and supervising the day-to-day activities of the shop personnel, ensuring that all company objectives are met in regards to safety, quality, productivity, and cost. This position reports to the Focus Shop Manager and is responsible for managing shop personnel, scheduling, and cost objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Hold safety meetings and perform monthly safety audits to ensure a safe working environment.
- Conduct safe observations and perform accident investigations as required.
- Manage shop personnel according to collective agreement and maintain a professional relationship with employees.
- Monitor production levels and provide coaching and issue discipline as needed.
- Develop and initiate cost improvement activities and regularly review productivity reports.
Requirements
- College Diploma (Technical, Welding Technician, Fitter, Fabricator, etc.) or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5 to 10 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel. Experience with SAP is an asset.
What We Offer
