About the Role

Big Instance Technologies Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Telecommunications Technician to join our team. As a Telecommunications Technician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing telecommunications equipment and networks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Installation and Maintenance: Install, arrange, remove, and maintain telephone equipment, wiring, and associated hardware.
  • Repair and Troubleshooting: Repair or replace defective telephone equipment, test installed telephone systems to locate transmission faults, and analyze test results to adjust, change, or repair switching systems, networks, and associated equipment and software.
  • Network Configuration: Install electromechanical, analog, and digital trunking systems, circuits, and equipment in telecommunications central offices and switching centers.
  • Customer Support: Instruct apprentices, operate computerized testing systems to conduct service tests on customer lines and equipment, and climb and work aloft on poles, ladders, or other support structures.
  • Worksite Environment: Work in confined spaces, fast-paced environments, and tight deadlines, with a combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching, and kneeling.
Requirements
  • Education: College/CEGEP diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in telecommunications installation and maintenance.
  • Language: English language proficiency.
  • Work Schedule: 37.5 hours per week.
