About the Role:

North Lake Enterprises LTD is seeking a skilled Construction General Manager to oversee site operations, ensuring projects are completed efficiently and effectively. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supervising workers and projects, coordinating activities, and overseeing apprenticeship training.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare detailed production reports, tracking project progress and identifying areas for improvement.
  2. Supervise and manage a team of construction workers, providing guidance and support to ensure tasks are completed to the highest standard.
  3. Coordinate and schedule activities, including equipment setup and material requisitioning.
  4. Oversee apprenticeship training programs, developing and implementing effective learning strategies.
  5. Recruit and hire qualified workers, managing staffing actions and ensuring compliance with regulations.
  6. Train or arrange for training, upskilling employees to meet evolving industry demands.
  7. Estimate costs and materials, ensuring accurate budgeting and financial planning.
  8. Set up and maintain equipment, guaranteeing optimal performance and minimizing downtime.
  9. Ensure all health and safety regulations are adhered to, maintaining a safe working environment.
  10. Review blueprints and drawings, confirming project requirements and specifications.
  11. Requisition materials and supplies, managing inventory levels and streamlining logistics.

Requirements:

  • Possess 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a similar role, demonstrating expertise in construction management.
  • Degree not required, but relevant certifications or training an asset.
  • Excellent leadership skills, able to motivate and guide a team towards shared goals.
  • Strong organizational abilities, capable of prioritizing tasks and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Effective communication skills, able to convey complex information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Able to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and other technical documents.
