Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Direct Support Supervisor to join our team at Reena. As a key member of our supervisory team, you will be responsible for ensuring the effective and continuous operation of our residential systems on weekends.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advisory Capacities
    • Establish and maintain a thorough understanding of Reena's policies and procedures.
    • Provide guidance and support to staff in challenging situations, adhering to policies and procedures.
    • Maintain a problem-solving focus while dealing with complex situations.
    • Ensure adequate staffing for each location through established procedures.
  • Supervisory Capacities
    • Work collaboratively with the supervisory team to ensure the effective operation of Reena's residential systems.
    • Support staff through challenging situations and make decisions quickly based on available information.
    • Complete mandatory training and updates, and work collaboratively with other departments to share information and streamline procedures.
    • Communicate effectively with the Residential Manager and other stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Formal Education and Experience
    • Three years of related college diploma or undergraduate university degree (Social Services preferred).
    • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a supervisory capacity or a combination of experience and related courses.
    • Minimum of 2 years of related experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Creative Problem Solving, Decision Making and Initiative
    • Ability to think creatively and develop innovative solutions.
    • Well-organized with keen attention to detail.
    • Able to prioritize multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
  • Interpersonal Skills, Respect and Conflict Resolution
    • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Collaboration and Customer Services
    • Exceptional customer service skills.
