Direct Support Supervisor

The Direct Support Supervisor plays a pivotal role in ensuring the effective operation of Reena's day and residential systems, while prioritizing the health, safety, and well-being of individuals with developmental disabilities and their staff. This position requires a strong leader who can promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of our work.
Key Responsibilities:- Supervise staff within assigned Community Service Groups, directing and supporting them to follow Reena's philosophy of community integration and adult living within a Judaic framework.
- Implement agency policies and procedures, ensuring a seamless and efficient work environment.
- Develop personalized supports for individuals based on Independent Support Plans and Behaviour Support Plans, and direct staff to implement these supports to achieve goals.
- Monitor staff performance through regular team meetings, on-the-job support, supervisions, and performance appraisals.
- Perform administrative tasks related to staff and locations, including payroll, incident reporting, record keeping, and Ministry required documents.
- Chair various meetings and work collaboratively with a team to stay informed about agency changes and initiatives, sharing information and ideas to drive continuous quality improvement.
- Post-Secondary education in a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and supervising residential homes.
- Demonstrated leadership ability to manage a group of staff.
- Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills, flexibility, and a service-oriented approach.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including individuals, families, direct support staff, supervisors, and managers.
- Ability to manage multiple priority tasks, with excellent organizational skills, self-motivation, and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
