Job Title: Registered Veterinary Technologist, Anesthesia

We are seeking an experienced Registered Veterinary Technologist, RVT to join our Anesthesia team at Guardian Veterinary Centre.

About the Role:

This is a full-time mat leave position that entails a condensed work week of 4 x 10-hour shifts in a weekday rotation and on-call shifts.

As a Registered Veterinary Technologist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and assisting with surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with surgical preparation, assisting, and patient recovery
  • Manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Provide compassionate care for hospitalized patients and their pet parents
  • Keep detailed and accurate patient records
  • Use advanced imaging techniques such as CT scans and fluoroscopy
  • Administer epidurals and other local blocks
  • Use mechanical ventilators and invasive blood pressure monitoring

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Completed a Veterinary Technologist or Animal Health Technologist program
  • Experience in anesthesia and surgical procedures
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
