Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Security Officer to join our team at Paladin Security. As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our campus community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service and respond to inquiries from students, faculty, and staff.
  • Conduct regular patrols of the campus to identify and mitigate potential security risks.
  • Investigate incidents and accidents, and prepare detailed reports for management.
  • Monitor and authorize access to the campus, including the entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons.
  • De-escalate crisis situations and provide support to individuals in need.
  • Collaborate with emergency personnel, including police, fire, and paramedic services.
  • Perform routine maintenance and inspections of security equipment and facilities.
  • Participate in professional development and training to enhance skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • A minimum of one year of experience in a security role, preferably in a municipal government or corporate environment.
  • Post-secondary education in a related field, such as criminology or security management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups.
  • A valid Security License for the Province of Ontario, as well as current First Aid/CPR and NVCI certifications.
  • Physical demands include excessive walking, standing, and exposure to all weather conditions and extreme temperatures.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience with security software, such as Perspective reporting or C-Cure/S2 access control.
  • Knowledge of loss prevention and security principles.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Fluency in multiple languages, including English and French.
