Arcadis is seeking a Senior Director of Buildings Engineering for the Places Business Area in Canada. This position reports to the Business Area Director and is based in Canada.

Key Responsibilities:

The Senior Director will be responsible for profitably growing the respective business unit presence in the country, aligned with GBA Places strategy and financial targets. Key responsibilities include:

  • Strategic Leadership: Lead the business unit with ultimate accountability for P&L performance, service quality delivery, and development of strategies to ensure service excellence and profitable growth within the unit.
  • Team Management: Recruit, set objectives, and review performance to ensure staff are developed, driven, and have the necessary skills to deliver program objectives.
  • Business Planning: Develop and implement the business plan, ensuring the team understands their role in achieving it, with a focus on quality, global delivery, integration of GEC, and context clarity.
  • Client Targeting: Identify and target clients through service excellence delivery to drive organic revenue growth in the business unit.
  • Relationship Building: Develop enduring relationships with clients to understand their business needs and ensure client satisfaction, improving retention and driving organic revenue growth.
  • Talent Development: Identify talent in the business unit in technical capability and sales, promoting career development by directing individuals to appropriate development programs.
  • Risk Management: Identify and manage risk in service delivery, ensuring compliance with governance processes to lead to service excellence and client satisfaction.
  • Market Understanding: Maintain an in-depth understanding of the business unit's clients and market to identify key trends and emerging opportunities.
Requirements:

To be successful, you should be a licensed Professional Engineer or Architect in Canada with at least 10+ years of experience leading and growing a significant business function within a professional services firm. You will inspire multi-disciplinary teams around a common purpose, demonstrating significant leadership capability.

You will have high intellectual, professional, and interpersonal agility and flexibility, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to collaborate at all levels of the organization, particularly senior levels. You are an excellent communicator and skilled at building relationships.

You have the technical knowledge to recognize and manage risk in running a design-led Business Unit, well-developed commercial skills, and a sound knowledge of the industry with demonstrated entrepreneurial behavior.

The estimated salary for this position is $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
