Role Overview
Royal Columbian Hospital in New Westminster, BC is seeking a skilled Master Facilities Planner and Project Manager to support the design activities for a major healthcare facility expansion and renovation project. This role will be an integral part of the Design and Construction team, partnering with Consultants, Clinical, RCH site Operations, and other key stakeholders to meet project deliverables and activities.

About the Role
The Master Facilities Planner and Project Manager will advise on change strategies, approaches, and provide project and change services specific to the Royal Columbian Redevelopment Project. Key responsibilities include overseeing and supporting the planning, design, and/or implementation of assigned large facilities projects with a high degree of complexity. The successful candidate will also manage the recruitment, orientation, and professional development of employees through formal assessments of training needs and development of training plans.

Responsibilities
• Establish project team structure by gathering input from stakeholders, identifying needs, and skills required
• Conduct performance evaluations as needed
• Establish effective communications channels to ensure stakeholders are fully engaged and aware of project status
• Carry out project plans according to established Redevelopment project methodologies and systems to ensure successful and coordinated completion of project components
• Monitor project charter, plans, budget, scope, schedule, expenditures, client satisfaction, and risks
• Lead business plan development for large capital projects through feasibility studies, analysis, and solution development
• Manage strategic space and facility planning initiatives, including site master plans and capital funding strategies
• Serves as a Redevelopment site coordinator, monitoring all planning and project activities on designated site(s)
• Lead and oversee planning, design, and contract preparation, engaging clinical planners, equipment planners, design consultants, and user groups
• Review and sign off schematic designs, design development documents, and working drawings and specs for functionality and adherence to technical standards and specifications

Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Engineering, or related field, along with a professional designation and seven to ten years of recent, related experience in project planning, design, and construction management. Key qualifications include comprehensive knowledge of project management principles, ability to coach team members on these skills, and demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Compensation and Benefits
The estimated salary range for this position is CAD $95,000 - $130,000 annually, depending on qualifications and experience.
