Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Network Systems Administrator to join our team at Academy of Learning College, Mississauga West. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our network infrastructure to ensure seamless communication and data exchange.

Key Responsibilities
  • Network Administration: Maintain, troubleshoot, and administer local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), mainframe networks, and computer workstations and peripheral equipment.
  • Hardware and Software Evaluation: Evaluate and install computer hardware, networking software, and operating system software to ensure optimal performance and security.
  • Problem-Solving: Provide problem-solving services to network users, ensuring prompt and effective resolution of technical issues.
  • Security and Compliance: Implement data, software, and hardware security procedures to protect our network and ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Backup and Recovery: Perform routine network start-up and close-down, maintain control records, and perform data backups and disaster recovery operations.
  • Network Optimization: Implement network traffic and security monitoring software, optimize server performance, and set up local area networks and connections to the Internet.
  • Web Development: Modify Web pages, applets, and scripts, research and apply meta-data to Websites, and register Websites with search engines.
  • Technical Supervision: Supervise technical staff and provide guidance and support as needed.
Requirements
  • Education: College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in network administration, hardware and software evaluation, and problem-solving.
  • Skills: Proficiency in JavaOS, device drivers, networking software, networking security, intranet, servers, file management software, presentation software, programming software, database software, MS Office, and MS Windows.
  • Work Environment: Fast-paced environment with tight deadlines, requiring attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
  • Personal Suitability: Accurate, client-focused, efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication, initiative, judgment, organized, and a team player.
