Job Title: Building Maintenance Technician

Triovest is seeking a skilled Building Maintenance Technician to join our team at Centre on Barton in Hamilton. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the assigned portfolio is managed and maintained in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the general tidiness of the property, including exterior and interior areas, and assist contracted staff with seasonal duties such as landscaping, mowing, snow removal, and garbage collection.
  • Perform daily pickups of garbage, cardboard, and recycling.
  • Plan, prioritize, perform, and monitor preventative maintenance, including painting, plumbing, and minor repairs as required.
  • Respond to and complete service requests in a timely manner.
  • Conduct daily inspections of the property, both internally and externally.
  • Assist with the setup and teardown of promotional events.
  • Work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Qualifications and Attributes:
  • Minimum of one year of building maintenance experience.
  • Experience with completing basic property repairs.
  • Valid Driver's License is required.
  • Must be available to work evenings and weekends.
  • Experience working with and overseeing contractors is an asset.
  • Knowledge of Building Management Software, Angus Anywhere, is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety procedures, including WHMIS, Lockout/tag out, fall protection, and mold, is considered an asset.
  • Must be physically capable of walking a significant amount (approximately 6-10 miles a day) between properties.
  • The ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and perform work on ladders.

  • A willingness to take responsibility and easily digest constructive feedback, using it as a learning opportunity.
