About the Role

Canadian Blood Services is seeking a highly skilled Project Lead to join our Medical Affairs and Innovation (MAI) Stem Cells team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for planning, managing, and implementing specific projects and initiatives, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and accreditation requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop business cases for projects, identifying benefits, scope, approach, risks, resource requirements, timelines, regulatory requirements, costs, and funding.
  • Lead project teams, manage activities, and ensure project success, utilizing your expertise in team management and interpersonal skills.
  • Monitor project progress, track timelines, targets, and parameters, and provide regular status reports to stakeholders.
  • Develop strategies, plans, materials, and tools to keep the project team and stakeholders informed about project objectives, plans, development, and implementation schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, including Health Canada Cells, Tissues and Organs (CTO), Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy (FACT), Association for the Advancement of Blood & Biotherapies (AABB), and World Marrow Donor Association (WMDA).
Requirements
  • Post-secondary level education, preferably a university degree in a related field. Certification in Project Management, such as PMP designation, is preferred.
  • A minimum of four years related experience in various project management roles, with previous knowledge or experience with regulations and standards.
  • Proven experience successfully interacting and building credibility with senior managers and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently with sound judgment and understanding of when to seek direction.
  • Ability to analyze complex problems, interpret business needs, and develop integrated, creative solutions.

Work Environment

This role offers a hybrid work environment, requiring on-site presence at a Canadian Blood Services location 40% of the time, or two days per week. You will be based at either our Ottawa office or our Edmonton office.
