Job Overview:



We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmaceutical Scientist - Pharmacokinetics and Modeling to join our team at Zymeworks. As a key member of our Clinical Pharmacology department, you will play a crucial role in the development and implementation of pharmacokinetic (PK) and pharmacodynamic (PD) modeling strategies for our therapeutic molecules.

Estimated Salary: $94,000 - $120,000 per year (base salary range)

About the Role:



As a Pharmaceutical Scientist - Pharmacokinetics and Modeling, you will be responsible for designing and implementing PK/PD models to support the clinical development of our therapeutic molecules. This will involve working closely with cross-functional teams to develop and validate PK/PD models, as well as analyzing and interpreting complex data to inform regulatory submissions and business decisions.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:


  • Developing and implementing PK/PD models to support the clinical development of our therapeutic molecules
  • Analyzing and interpreting complex data to inform regulatory submissions and business decisions
  • Working closely with cross-functional teams to develop and validate PK/PD models
  • Maintaining a high level of technical expertise in PK/PD modeling and analysis
  • Staying up-to-date with industry trends and developments in PK/PD modeling and analysis
  • Providing scientific guidance and support to colleagues within the organization
  • Collaborating with external partners and vendors to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of projects


Requirements and Qualifications:



To be successful in this role, you will need to have a PhD or equivalent degree in Pharmacology/Biomedicine/Biochemistry or a related scientific discipline, with a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience within the pharmaceutical industry, contract research, or clinical research. You should also have a strong background in PK training and experience, as well as proficiency using Phoenix Winnonlin for non-compartmental analysis.

Additional requirements include:


  • Hands-on experience with clinical pharmacology-related work experience in regulatory and scientific documentation writing
  • Advanced spreadsheet skills and familiarity with PK, ADA, and NAb bioanalytical methods development and validation
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities, as well as effective interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Strong clinical/scientific writing skills and ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize work, and meet deadlines
  • Familiarity with at least two modeling and simulation software packages (e.g., Phoenix WinNonlin, NONMEM, Berkeley Madonna, R, S-Plus, SimCYP, Monolix, and GastroPlus)
  • Proven track record of working collaboratively as a member of a cross-functional team
