The Gateway of Niagara Convenience is seeking a seasoned Sales Supervisor to lead our retail team and drive sales excellence. In this role, you will be responsible for supervising staff, assigning duties, hiring and training employees, ordering merchandise, and managing inventory.

About the Role

As a Sales Supervisor, you will play a crucial part in maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction, driving sales growth, and ensuring a smooth day-to-day operation. You will work closely with our management team to achieve business objectives and contribute to the overall success of the company.

This is an on-site position that requires physical presence at the retail location. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and leadership skills, as well as the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise and train sales staff, including apprentices and design team members
  • Assign sales workers to duties and ensure efficient workflow
  • Hire and train new employees, or arrange for their training
  • Order and manage inventory, including merchandise and supplies
  • Autorize returns of merchandise and manage cash handling
  • Establish work schedules and maintain a productive work environment
  • Sell merchandise and prepare reports on sales volumes, merchandising, and personnel matters
  • Organize and maintain inventory, and supervise office and volunteer staff
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • 5-10 years of experience in sales or retail management
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Knowledge of inventory management and cash handling procedures
  • Physical stamina to work in a fast-paced retail environment
