A&W Restaurants Inc. is a leading fast-food chain with a strong presence in British Columbia and the Yukon Territories. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Restaurant Manager to join our team.
Job Summary
The Restaurant Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of restaurant operations, ensuring high-quality customer experiences, and driving business growth and profitability. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily restaurant operations, including staff scheduling, inventory control, and cash handling.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve customer satisfaction, sales, and profitability.
- Lead and motivate a team of employees, providing coaching, training, and performance feedback.
- Monitor and control costs, including labor, inventory, and supplies.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with the Area Manager and HR to recruit, hire, and develop staff.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback to employees.
- Manage accidents or complaints, implementing service recovery programs as needed.
- Ensure the restaurant meets cleanliness and safety standards.
- Develop and implement local store marketing strategies.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in the food industry, with supervisory or management experience.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
- Expertise in all restaurant positions, including knowledge of operating systems and standards.
- Ability to do accounting and manage administrative aspects of the operation.
- Acceptable oral and written business communication skills.
- Competency in Windows 10 and Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Preferred Skills
- Ability to give presentations and build positive relationships with colleagues and suppliers.
- Standing and walking for extended periods, with some heavy lifting.
