Electromechanical Estimator

About the Role
Pomerleau is a leading construction company in Canada, specializing in institutional, commercial, industrial, and civil engineering sectors. As an Electromechanical Estimator, you will play a crucial role in delivering excellence in every sector where we operate.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform material and labor quantity estimates for major jobs.
- Prepare summary quantities based on plans and specifications, classifying according to standard sections and trades.
- Participate in the selection of concepts, types of equipment, and suppliers.
- Attend coordination meetings, site visits, and assess the difficulty of projects to be estimated.
- Research material or subcontractor prices after analyzing bid documents. Invite subcontractors, provide them with the necessary documents, and give them access to the virtual plan room.
- Verify compliance of amounts received from suppliers and subcontractors with tender documents.
- Participate in updating the database of subcontractors and suppliers, and propose alternatives to reduce construction costs.
Requirements
- Mechanical or electrical engineering degree or equivalent experience;
- Good technical knowledge of building mechanics;
- Strong skills in reading plans and specifications;
- Versatility and excellent analytical skills;
- Good oral and written communication skills.
