About the Role

The Home Support Worker (HSW) is a vital member of our team, reporting to the Assisted Living Clinical Manager. This role involves providing holistic and quality care to our residents, adhering to established policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement personalized care plans for residents.
  • Assist with daily living activities, including medication management, bathing, grooming, and meal support.
  • Respond to call bell alarms and monitor residents' progress, reporting significant observations.
  • Encourage residents to participate in social, physical, and recreational activities.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of community policies and procedures, including emergency protocols.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure seamless care delivery.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Graduate from a recognized Care Aide Program.
  • Active registration with the British Columbia Care Aide & Community Health Worker Registry.
  • Valid First Aid Level 1 certification and current CPR.
  • Medication Administration Certification required.
  • Previous experience in a care community preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently.
  • Pass the vulnerable sector Criminal Record Check.
  • Good physical health and ability to perform repetitive tasks.
