Job Title: Assistant Construction Manager

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Construction Manager to join our team at Ville de Témiscaming. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for coordinating subcontractors' activities, evaluating daily operations, and planning and organizing daily construction operations.

Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate subcontractors' activities to ensure timely completion of construction projects
  • Evaluate daily operations to identify areas for improvement and implement changes as needed
  • Plan and organize daily construction operations to meet project deadlines and budgets
  • Select trade subcontractors and prepare and submit construction project budget estimates
  • Plan and prepare construction schedules and milestones and monitor progress
  • Establish and implement policies and procedures for quality control
  • Read blueprint, schemas, and drawings to ensure compliance with project specifications
  • Plan and manage budgets to ensure cost-effectiveness and efficiency
  • Direct the purchase of building materials and land acquisitions
  • Develop risk management plans to mitigate potential risks and ensure project success
  • Oversee the analysis of data and information to inform project decisions
  • Prepare reports to stakeholders on project progress and performance
Requirements:
  • 5-10 years of experience in construction management or a related field
  • Professional Engineer Certification (P. Eng.) or equivalent experience
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office, MS Excel, and MS Project
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
