Restorative Justice/Youth Mental Health Court/Attendance Centre Worker
Job Summary:We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate professional to join our Youth Justice Team as a Restorative Justice/Youth Mental Health Court/Attendance Centre Worker. This is a 12-month full-time contract position in Kapuskasing, with travel throughout the NEOFACS Cochrane Catchment area as required.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide support to youth aged 12-17 who are in contact with the criminal justice system and present with mental health needs, illness, or disorder.
- Establish effective linkages between the youth, the Youth Justice Court, and appropriate community mental health and justice resources.
- Develop and implement cognitive, life-skills, and recreational programs to prevent recidivism among young persons in conflict with the law.
- Facilitate the development, planning, and implementation of Restorative Justice initiatives and services within the Agency.
- Bachelor's degree in Criminology, Law and Justice, or Social Work (or equivalent). Community College diploma in Social Service Worker or Child and Youth Worker may also be considered.
- Thorough knowledge and experience in interpreting and applying legislative acts, regulations, and policies of the Ministry of Children and Youth Services and Youth Criminal Justice Act.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours and travel as required.
- Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset.
- Valid driver's license and use of own vehicle.
