Regional Safety Manager Job Description
Chandos is seeking a highly skilled Regional Safety Manager to lead our Regional or District Safety team to a Best in Class Standard. As a key member of our team, you will effectively manage safe work in accordance with local regulations and Chandos Safe work procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, Coach and Manage direct reports in an assigned area or district of responsibility
- Communicate and interact with provincial and federal agencies requiring deliverable reporting including Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) and Emergency Services
- Develop and execute effective relevant procedures to further enhance the program
- Implement change as based on leading indicators and statistical metrics
- Develop a sound company safety culture working with all levels and departments of Chandos
- Applies expertise to assess risk and solve problems of varying construction tasks
- Participates in project start up meetings and understands the scope of work on projects
- Provides guidance and oversight on incident investigations and potentially severe near misses
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of commercial and industrial construction experience
- National Construction Safety Officer Designation or HSE degree or Safety Diploma
- 2+ years in a Safety Management role
- Demonstrated Leadership abilities
- Possess a thorough understanding of 3rd Party pre-quals, including, IsNet, Avetta, Contractor Check.
- Travel is required throughout the Ontario region
