Department Manager Health and Wellness Job Summary
We are currently seeking a skilled Department Manager to lead our Health and Beauty department at Atlantic Superstore. The ideal candidate will be a strong leader with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to motivate and develop their team to achieve sales goals and provide exceptional customer service.
- Direct and supervise all Health and Wellness staff to maintain efficient inventory levels and provide courteous customer service
- Ensure productivity within the department and achieve sales expectations
- Respond to customer inquiries and ensure courteous customer relations at all times
- Maximize sales and gross profit by meeting sales goals and budgets
- Hire and train part-time staff
- Schedule colleagues and ensure compliance with scheduling practices and wage control
- Interpret and administer Company policy and ensure Employee Guidelines compliance
- Ensure the safety and sanitation of the sales floor, back shop, coolers, and freezers
- Build and lead diverse teams that foster inclusiveness and belonging
Requirements
- Flexibility to work a variety of hours including days, evenings, and weekends
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods
- Accept responsibility for department metrics, leadership, and colleague engagement
- Three to five years' experience in the Health and Beauty industry considered beneficial
- Prior management experience considered an asset
- Grade 12 Diploma (GED or equivalent)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal/time management skills
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and develop associates
- Proficiency in basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of retail operations, including merchandising, inventory management, and customer service
