Personal Finance Editor Job Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Personal Finance Editor to join our team at FinanceBuzz. As a Personal Finance Editor, you will be responsible for creating and editing engaging content that meets the needs of our audience.

About the Role

As a Personal Finance Editor, you will work closely with our team to develop a deep understanding of personal finance topics and create content that is both informative and engaging. Your expertise in personal finance and ability to work independently will be essential in this role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and edit high-quality content that meets SEO and compliance guidelines
  • Analyze page performance metrics to inform content optimization decisions
  • Create new content briefs and edit stories to ensure accuracy and engagement
  • Demonstrate strong editorial judgment and topical expertise across personal finance topics
  • Work closely with freelance writers to provide constructive feedback and guidance
  • Ensure all content adheres to our style, sourcing, and compliance guidelines
  • Collaborate with the Editorial Team to improve knowledge and skills through feedback and mentorship
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest SEO best practices and share knowledge with the team
  • Contribute to the growth and development of the FinanceBuzz brand as a leading destination for personal finance information and education
Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience in a digital editor role
  • Passion for creating high-quality, high-performance content
  • Expertise in some area of personal finance and familiarity with compliance
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions with minimal supervision
  • Experience working within a CMS (WordPress, Drupal, etc.)
  • Experience mentoring writers and editors
  • Experience with Google Docs, Google Sheets, and Asana (or Airtable or Trello)
  • Clear understanding of how search engine optimization works
  • Basic knowledge of HTML is a plus
