Position Overview

The City of Kamloops is seeking a skilled Building Technician to support our development and engineering team. As a Building Technician, you will be responsible for reviewing building permit applications, responding to inquiries, and maintaining departmental policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Screen building permit applications and respond to general inquiries
  • Maintain departmental policies and procedures
  • Act as a designated Super User for Tempest Prospero and other software used for permit reviews and correspondence
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A post-secondary diploma in Building Technology
  • At least one year of experience in a building permitting environment with significant public interaction
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Visio)
  • A valid Driver's License – class 5 or equivalent
