Financial Services Coordinator

The District School Board of Niagara is a dynamic and innovative organization that serves over 40,000 students across almost 100 elementary and secondary schools in the beautiful Niagara region.
As a Financial Services Coordinator, you will be a key member of our Financial Services Department, working closely with the Supervisor of Accounting to ensure accurate analysis, auditing, and other key accounting duties are completed efficiently and effectively.
Your primary responsibilities will include reviewing, verifying, and entering vendor invoices and requisitions for payment, ensuring expenditures comply with DSBN policies and procedures. You will also scan invoices, handle inquiries from vendors, and verify taxes on invoices and payments.
In addition, you will run and balance preliminary and final cheque registers according to established payment schedules, print cheques/EFT notifications, and distribute them accordingly. Other duties may include providing coverage for employee expense reimbursements, handling inquiries from employees, recording receipts of supplies or services invoiced, and receiving and processing all funds received by the Education Centre.
We are seeking an individual with a minimum of two (2) years of post-secondary education in Accounting, as well as at least one (1) year of relevant accounting experience. You must be proficient in Excel, Word, Adobe, and Microsoft Business Central, with excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
As a team player, you will work effectively with various individuals both within and outside the Board, dealing with competing priorities, multiple demands, and constant deadlines. Your ability to demonstrate strong initiative, attention to detail, and excellent customer service delivery is essential to your success in this role.
We offer a competitive salary range of $50,000-$65,000 per year, based on qualifications and experience.
