We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced academic leader to join our team as an Assistant Professor of Teaching in Biostatistics and Data Science. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching biostatistics and data science courses, coordinating the teaching team, and developing educational programs.
Key Responsibilities- Teach biostatistics and data science courses, including BIOL 300 Fundamentals of Biostatistics
- Coordinate the teaching team for multiple sections of biostatistics lectures and tutorials using R
- Develop educational programs and courses in biostatistics and data science
- Contribute to the development of tutorials to incorporate basic statistics and data science principles into first and second-year biology courses
- Participate in departmental activities, service, events, and initiatives
- PhD in biology or biomedical science, or a related field
- Strong foundation in statistics relevant for the biological sciences
- Teaching experience in biostatistics and data science
- Ability to teach large enrollment courses in biostatistics and biology
- Commitment to improving biology teaching and engaging with discipline-based educational research
- Strong commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion
