Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team at the City of Victoria BC.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for processing accounts payable invoices, employee expense claims, and cheque requisitions.

They will also verify compliance with purchasing and accounts payable policies, calculate and maintain contract hold-backs, discounts, and rebates.

In addition, the Accounts Payable Clerk will resolve account discrepancies, provide account information to various departments, and prepare reports and spreadsheets for financial analysis.

Responsibilities:

  • Process accounts payable invoices, employee expense claims, and cheque requisitions
  • Verify compliance with purchasing and accounts payable policies
  • Calculate and maintain contract hold-backs, discounts, and rebates
  • Resolve account discrepancies and provide account information to various departments
  • Prepare reports and spreadsheets for financial analysis

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • 1 year of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Working level operation of current City related specialty software
