Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Nursing Unit Assistant to join our team at Cariboo Memorial Hospital in Williams Lake. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide administrative support to our nursing staff, ensuring the smooth operation of our patient care areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clerical support to nursing staff, including prioritizing and processing physicians' orders, scheduling appointments, and maintaining patient records.
  • Act as a communication link for the unit, relaying messages and information to staff and patients as needed.
  • Perform data entry, filing, and other administrative tasks to support the efficient operation of the unit.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including patient charts and electronic health records.
  • Provide excellent customer service to patients, families, and staff, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
Requirements
  • Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of a recognized Nursing Unit Clerk program and medical terminology course.
  • One year of recent experience in a healthcare setting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to keyboard 40 wpm and communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and provide excellent customer service.
