Assistant Category Manager

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Assistant Category Manager to join our team at Sobeys Inc. As a key member of our wholesale merchandising team, you will be responsible for executing product, placement, pricing, and promotion strategies for items within your assigned categories.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute category plans to drive sales growth and profitability
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities and implement category strategies
- Analyze sales data and market trends to inform category decisions
- Work with vendors to negotiate pricing and terms
- Manage inventory levels and optimize stockroom operations
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including customers and suppliers
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in category management or a related field
- Proven track record of driving sales growth and profitability
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks
